Hello everyone,
I’m Ahnaf Tahmid Chowdhury. I wanted to share the story behind the creation of NukeHub and the vision that drives our mission.
Recognizing the Gap
In 2022, while observing the rapid advancements in nuclear technology, I noticed a significant gap in the resources available for individuals interested in this field. This gap was particularly evident in Bangladesh, where our journey with nuclear power had just begun with the construction of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. Despite this progress, our country was still lagging behind developed nations in terms of nuclear research and education.
Challenges in Nuclear Education
The education system for nuclear engineering in Bangladesh was underdeveloped. Students faced numerous challenges, including difficulty in accessing and affording the necessary software for their projects. Many open-source projects were available, but they were often difficult to install and update, and required powerful computers that were beyond the reach of most students.
The Birth of NukeHub
Driven by a vision to address these challenges, NukeHub was founded as a global nonprofit organization. Our decision to establish NukeHub as a nonprofit was fueled by our belief in the power of open collaboration and the free exchange of ideas. We envisioned a platform that would be accessible to all, regardless of financial means, and could serve as a global community dedicated to advancing nuclear technology.
Our Mission
At NukeHub, our mission is to bridge the gap in nuclear technology education and foster a global community of learners and professionals. By operating as a nonprofit, we can focus entirely on our mission rather than being driven by profit motives. We strive to provide an inclusive platform where individuals can learn, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects that advance the field of nuclear technology.
A Special Thanks to MIST
We are immensely grateful to the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) for their generous support in hosting our services, including NRMS, NukeLab, and NukeTalk. Their support has been crucial in powering these platforms and enabling us to reach our goals. We extend our heartfelt thanks to MIST for standing with us as we work towards advancing nuclear technology education.
